It is amazing the memories we have from childhood. Some of my favorite ones were from just being at home with my parents and sister. Every time we would get a big snow, we would make fudge a crackers. Making these treat required my dad's assistance. Dad made the best fudge I have ever eaten.
He would cook it low and slow until if formed the perfect soft ball stage. Then he would move the pan to a sink filled with cool water and beat it with wooden spoon until it was ready to spread onto saltine crackers.
Mom and I have tried to re-create those treats - but somehow the fudge just is never the same. So, I am ever so thankful for all the fudge and crackers my sister and I were treated to growing up! Just another one of those wonderful memories my dad left us with.

That sounds amazing. Food really connects us as a family. There are so many special treats I remember from childhood! I'm glad you and your sister have that special memory to share of your dad.
